O'DONNELL ABÚ; The Last Stand of Gaelic Ireland

$ 20.00

In the 1590s, the distinguished Irish chieftain Hugh O’Neill, Earl of Tyrone, together with his formidable ally Red Hugh O’Donnell, mounted a concerted and near-successful campaign to expel English power from Ireland. For a time, their strategy and resolve appeared poised to alter the course of Irish history. Yet, as has too often marked Ireland’s long struggle for sovereignty, the final and decisive moment proved tragic. The defeat at the Siege of Kinsale irrevocably determined the fate of Ulster and, ultimately, of Ireland itself. Its legacy endures, resonating across centuries and subtly echoing wherever two lads share a bit of craic over a round.
